Nase:
Der 2019 Ampeleia von der Società Agricola Ampeleia zeigt sich in der Nase großzügig mit ausladend hedonistischem Charakter. Die fundamentale schwarze Herzkirsche und die dunkle Maulbeere bilden das fruchtige Fundament, umrahmt von feiner Holzwürze, Sandelholz und Vetiver. Aromen nach dunklen Gewürzen wie schwarzem Pfeffer, Piment und Thymian, schwarzer Kardamom und Elsbeere schlagen die Brücke zurück zur Frucht. Trotz seines offenherzigen Naturells verlangt der Ampeleia in der Jugend ausnahmslos und unmissverständlich nach der Karaffe.

Mund:
Die jugendlichen Gerbstoffe sind fleischig und fest, so dass man meint, man könne ihn kauen. Animierend herb kippen sie aromatisch in die Süße und schlagen den Bogen zur dunklen Frucht, die hier ebenfalls jugendlich, also vergleichsweise diszipliniert auftritt. Die Früchte der Nase spiegeln sich auch am Gaumen und werden vom animierenden Tannin gesäumt. Das verleiht ihm seinen rapiden Trinkzug, eine Eigenschaft, die gute Weine ungeachtet ihres Prestiges auszeichnet: Flow! Ätherisch kühles, langes Finish.

Infos zum Wein:

Ampeleia ist der Spitzenwein und Namensgeber des Weingutes in der Maremma. Cabernet Franc ist dabei die Identität stiftende Rebsorte, die nach Ansicht Ampeleias in der südlichen Toskana einzigartige Qualitäten liefert: Roccatederighi und Cabernet Franc haben eine seltene Synergie, aus der im Jahre 2002 das Weingut entstand. Die Cuvée aus einst sechs Rebsorten beschränkt sich heute allein auf den Cabernet Franc. Die Rebanlagen für den Ampeleia sind um das Weingut verteilt, stehen auf Lehm-Kalkböden und erstrecken sich über unterschiedliche Höhenlagen. Nach händischer Lese vergären die Trauben mit einem Anteil von 15% Ganztrauben spontan, bevor die Weine für 12 weitere Monate in Holzgebinden reifen.
