Der britische Künstler Simon Starling (*1967) gehört zu einer jungen Generation konzeptuell arbeitender Künstler, die sich mit der erzählerischen Dimension von Kunst auseinander setzt. Starling interessiert sich für modernistische Designobjekte, Materialien und Ideen, die exemplarisch für die Produktionsbedingungen und Ideologien oder die Ästhetik einer bestimmten Zeit stehen. Indem er das Ausgangsmaterial zerlegt, verwandelt und völlig neu verkettet, schreibt er dessen Geschichte fort und stellt gleichzeitig Fragen nach der ursprünglichen Intention und Bedeutung. Das außergewöhnlich gestaltete Buch führt erstmals durch das Werk des heute in Berlin lebenden Künstlers, der zuletzt in Ausstellungen etwa im Portikus in Frankfurt/Main oder an der São Paulo Biennale komplexe kulturelle und ästhetische Fragestellungen aufgeworfen und bearbeitet hat. Dabei werden auch die jüngsten Projekte berücksichtigt, die Starling im Sommer 2005 anlässlich seiner ersten Überblicksausstellung für das Kunstmuseum Basel realisierte. Excellent durability for daily wear

I bought these earrings a year ago and I've been wearing them ever since! I never take them off because they are so comfortable. They never come unlatched and they are very durable. They look great and I love how they have some movement because of the two loops hooked together. For me the size is perfect, but you can always remove the dangling hoop to decrease the weight and create a smaller look. Even with booth hoops installed, they are so light that I cannot feel them in my ears. They would make a lovely gift because they look more expensive than the price I paid.

Cute but small

These are cute but they are smaller than I thought they would be. The only thing I did not like was that they kept coming apart. The two links would unhook and one hook would fall off. I squeezed them a little tighter and that helped.
