These ten papers were written for various purposes since my retirement from Mid-America Bible College in 1987 through 1992. Each was written at the request of some group or individual. Only one, on Sanctification, has been published, and it was in a different form, as part of a study booklet for the World Conference in Germany.

Since the papers involved considerable research, and have been presented to various groups for study, it is felt that they should be made available for the use of others. It would take considerable effort to make them more uniform in format, so I beg the reader to consider the content, not the form.

The first three, and the one on Racial Unity were all present[ed] to Open Forum groups, made up of persons from the Church of God and from the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. The papers on Sin and Conversion were presented to a small group of scholars from the two churches, and the ones on Authority and Racial Unity were delivered to the large Open Forum meetings.

It should be understood that none of these are complete studies of the subject, but each was written in response to particular questions. It is hoped that they will have value for other Bible students. This is my hope and prayer.
