City of a Hundred Fires"Richard Blanco, a Cuban raised in the United States, records his threefold burdens: learning and adapting to American culture, translating for family and friends, and maintaining his own roots. . . . Blanco is already a mature, seasoned writer, and his powers of description and determination to get every nuance correct are evident from the first poem. . . . Absolutely essential for all libraries." Library Journal "As one of the newer voices in Cuban

Blanco is already a mature, seasoned writer, and his powers of description and determination to get every nuance correct are evident from the first poem. . . . Absolutely essential for all libraries." --Library Journal "As one of the newer voices in Cuban-American poetry, Blanco write about the reality of an uprooted culture and how the poet binds the farthest regions of the world together through language. . . . This book describes the price of exile and extends beyond the shores of America and the imagined shores of home." --Bloomsbury Review "Unlike most contemporary minority poetry, City of a Hundred Fires, introduces readers to the fullness and richness of ethnic life, and not only the frustration and isolation so often associated with it. Richard Blanco exquisitely portrays the triumphs and defeats of a land and a people that have just barely survived revolution and time, and, without sentiment or cliche, affirms the ability within us all to achieve wholeness." --Indiana Review "Blanco is a fine young poet, and this poetry, the bread and wine of our language of exile, is pure delight. May he continue to produce such a heavenly mix of rhythm and image-these poems are more than gems, they are the truth not only about the Cuban-American experience, but of our collective experience in the United States, a beautiful land of gypsies." --Virgil Suarez Richard Blanco was, as he says, "made in Cuba, asssembled in Madrid, and imported to the United States," meaning he was conceived in Cuba, born in Madrid, and arrived in the United States as an infant able to claim citizenship in three different countries. His work has appeared in many journals, magazines, and anthologies, including the Nation, Michigan Quarterly, TriQuarterly, and Indiana Review. Blanco is a graduate of the MFA program in creative writing at Florida International University and also works as a civil engineer.Binding Type: Paperback

I love the shape, weight and color
Color: Green Glow in the Dark, Color: Green Glow in the Dark
I think this is a much better ergonomic shape. Most covers keep the same basic shape of the remote. My remote had the four stacked buttons instead of 2x2. I ripped them all off because I kept accidentally switching over to Netflix or espn in the middle of watching something, and that's the only reason this fits. It's made only for 4x4. At least 1 of the buttons would be covered.
The volume buttons are almost flush, so it's kinda hard to tell they're there, but they function very well.
I chose the color for the contrast on my dark grey sheets and it works really well. And it really glows ok tje dark. It didn't look like it didn't the day I bought it l, but it had to charge it the light or it wasn't dark enough.
It looks weird where ther holes are because of the remotes roundish shape. But the more I use it the more I really like the shape coupled with the weight if it. I personally like the squared off shape and the honeycomb so much. And if I upgrade to a bigger roku tv in a couple months I can keep using this cover.

Must have for Apple Remote!!
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
I regret not buying this sooner! As most of you know, the Apple TV remote is a slippery little thing, and this case is perfect! Color is bright so you can find your remote, it has a nerve grip so it’s no longer slippery, and the silicon protects it from drops. It doesn’t hinder the buttons and goes on and off super easily. Great investment for the remote.

How did I watch TV without one?
Color: blue-glow
We stayed at an AirBnB recently and the TV was set up to use the tiny, thin AppleTV remote. We have the same remote and I constantly lose it or drop it or brush the touchpad when I don’t mean to. When I saw that they had wrapped their remote in this thin silicone “case”, I went on Amazon and bought one immediately. It arrived right after we got home and took all of 10 seconds to put on the remote. It fits snuggly, but not so much that you have to worry about damaging the remote putting the case on or taking it off. It doesn’t cover any of the buttons or the plug and gives the remote a bit more heft. The ribbing and “stickiness” of the silicone makes it easier to pick up with my big fingers. Now the remote is easier to use (partly because it’s easier to pick up and to hold). It’s also harder to lose, because it makes the remote feel a bit larger, and (ours at least) is in a cool, translucent, day-glo green, that glows in the dark (sort of). Win-win-win...
