Many people will be able to recognize the town in this book as Leicester. However, the buildings, the streets and the way of life may all seem unfamiliar to the majority of us. Between 1932 and 1975, slum clearance changed the face of the city.

Housing close to the centre of town was demolished and new estates, factories and roads took their place. Until then, the slums were home to thousands of people who had to live in conditions that were frequently cramped, unhealthy and sometimes dirty.

In this book, images, accounts and maps of a long-vanished Leicester provide a glimpse of where and how thousands of poor people lived. "The Slums of Leicester" provides a unique pictorial account of a Leicester that has long disappeared.

It brings together vivid descriptions of life in the slums with contemporary photographs and maps which are set out district by district. It draws on many previously unpublished photographs and descriptions.

Great to keep your dog entertained
Color: Blue
Great toy my 13 month old cane corso absolutely loved it and it kept her entertained forever except she has an extremely strong bite so she was figuring out a way to split it apart so I had to take it away -it’s extremely strong, but not strong enough for the bite of a cane corso but any other dog would love it. I just wish my dog didn’t have such a strong bite and would be able to keep enjoying it since it is a little expensive the only problem with it is that I thought the remote shuts it off, but then her bites were making it come back on, so I don’t know if it was my dog or the toy just doesn’t stay off until you turn it on.

Stopped working within 3 days
Color: Blue
Worked for 3 plays. My 11 week old puppy loved this item. Unfortunately, it only lasted 3 tries before the motor stopped working. $30 for a total of 30 minutes over 3 days is robbery! I'd look at another vendor for the same type of item. We charged it after each attempt but now the motor won't turn on.

Used it one day and partially the following day. Put on charger. Never worked again. My dog played with it but returned it as defective.

Not for super chewers
Color: Blue
This ball seems to be of good quality; has held a charge well and is easy to use. Sadly, the cover lasted less than 15 minutes with our dog.... not for aggressive chewers for sure. Pretty funny to watch the hound dog jowls shake though.

Great fun for dogs!
Color: Orange
Two of our dogs really love this! It caused a lot of barking and chasing and running around trying to grab it. It's really funny to use the remote to control it (and especially make it stop when things get a little too chaotic!) It feels durable even when pawed and bumped into and stepped on. The battery life seems good. I plugged it in overnight to charge so not sure how long it took to charge, but it has lasted quite a while with the dogs playing with it and still doesn't need a charge. It's easy to screw off one side of the ball to plug it in to charge. The size is a little bigger than a tennis ball I would say and has a soft texture.
