RA 7355 EARLY PATTERN G.W.R. "LARGE" SHEEP DOME BLOCK BELL.This very early pattern Great Western Railway block bell was produced by the company is their Reading signal works at Caversham Road. It was made as a "split" type meaning the top front section could be removed by the lineman for maintenance. This feature was not successful and most instruments were rebuilt by fitting a complete new top, here they have just replaced to front section. Even better this instrument has its original turned brass bell

Even better this instrument has its original turned brass bell pedestal which supports the largest example of a Sheep dome bell I've ever seen, a superb tone. This instrument is in excellent condition and in full working order.
