Six Questions Your Re-Bath Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise business model financial spreadsheet using our own research into the bathroom remodeling sector. Key assumptions like the $1,175,000 year-one revenue and $220,000 leasehold costs are pre-populated and fully editable. This tool helps with calculating ROI for remodeling franchise investment by mapping every cost from the $50,000 fee to the 6% royalty.

When does this bathroom remodeling unit reach profitability?

When will the unit reach profitability?

The unit becomes profitable in its first year, generating $390,000 in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization). This trajectory is driven by high-ticket bathroom remodels and accessibility solutions that quickly offset the 8% combined royalty and marketing fees. Plus, the high average ticket ensures fixed costs are covered early in the month.

Maximizing Unit Margins

  • Upsell proprietary materials
  • Optimize subcontractor labor
  • Increase premium service mix
[dynamic_pic9]
What is the total startup capital and how is it spent?

What is the total capital requirement?

Launching this home service franchise requires approximately $450,000 in total initial investment. This covers the $50,000 franchise fee, $220,000 in leasehold improvements, and $55,000 for showroom fixtures to create a premium customer experience. Honestly, how to calculate startup costs for a home service franchise depends on your local build-out quotes and initial inventory needs.

Major Capital Uses

  • Leasehold Improvements: $220,000
  • Showroom Fixtures: $55,000
  • Franchise Fee: $50,000
[dynamic_pic10]
What are the expected investor returns and payback?

What are the investor returns?

Investors can expect an internal rate of return (IRR) of 9.94% and a return on equity (ROE) of 4.77. The payback period is 2 years, making it a relatively fast recovery of capital compared to other retail-heavy models. This financial planning guide for new franchise owners shows that ROI analysis improves significantly as revenue scales toward $3.1M.

Key Investment Metrics

  • Payback Period: 2 Years
  • Internal Rate of Return: 9.94%
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $1,645,000
[dynamic_pic11]
What sales volume is needed to break even?

What is the break-even point?

The monthly break-even point is reached in January 2026, just one month after starting operations. Break-even depends heavily on maintaining sales volume to cover the $10,700 in monthly fixed costs, including the $6,000 design center rent. Budgeting for a new bathroom design center requires focusing on high-margin jobs to keep this threshold low.

Paths to Faster Break-even

  • Secure pre-sale contracts
  • Optimize showroom energy use
  • Focus on high-margin jobs
[dynamic_pic12]
How much cash runway is required for the ramp-up?

What is the cash runway?

The lowest cash point is $956,000 in June 2026, so you need to manage capital expenditure planning carefully during the first six months. We recommend using a franchise unit operating expense template to track the $32,000 installation vehicle purchase and other pre-opening costs. Still, a healthy cash buffer is essential to handle unexpected delays in showroom construction.

Cash Flow Protection

  • Phase showroom fixture payments
  • Negotiate rent abatement
  • Manage inventory strictly
[dynamic_pic13]
How do different performance scenarios impact the bottom line?

How do scenarios change the outcome?

A high-growth scenario defintely improves the year-1 margin by leveraging the fixed design center overhead against more jobs. Using a revenue projection model for service-based franchises allows you to see how a 10% increase in average ticket impacts the bottom line. But even in a low-growth case, the high-margin nature of remodeling keeps the unit viable.

Achieving High-Case Outcomes

  • Increase lead conversion
  • Improve crew productivity
  • Expand referral network

Great dog balls at a great price
Size: Medium
The balls are a favorite for my dog. I could have done without the hole through the middle because I don't do treats in balls anyway. My dog loves balls for their own merit. I needed replacement balls for my Nerf Dog Ball launcher. It seems the originals have disappeared from the market. I took a chance because the price is right and this Chuck-it ball works very well so we're liking this ball a lot. So far my Dachsund, who can destroy a tennis ball (the kind they are selling as Nerf Dog replacements) in 3 minutes has not done any damage to this one so that's a win. I recommend this as a much better ball than the fuzzy tennis balls. I like the colors too since many dog toys are green (which gets lost in the lawn, etc.) or red (even though dogs have red/green color blindness. Blue and orange are good and pretty easy to find. I liked these well enough that this set was my second purchase so I will have spares in case the others are lost.

My Baby loves his new baby!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
Finally! A ball my 107 lb. pitty/pointer mix can’t destroy. He has torn up every single “indestructible” toy in a day or so until now. He peels fabric and fur off non-rubber toys. He is a 4-legged shredder. I’ve added pictures of him for a size reference of my dog versus this product. I know I had wanted that when shopping for this item. This ball is now his beloved “baby.” He goes absolutely insane looking for it, chewing it, chasing it, and even sleeping with it. He won’t rest unless he knows exactly where it is. It is his only toy, and he is good with that. After getting this home, I tried giving him other choices, but he won’t touch them. I was worried that he would rip it apart by putting his teeth in the holes, but so far, not a scratch. It is soft enough to collapse just enough to keep it from cracking when his jaws crush it but not so soft that he can rip it to sheds. The holes are large enough to prevent a suction or vacuum effect on his tongue or mouth. For his size jaws, it is a perfect fit. Other dogs might have problems with suction or be able to get their teeth in those holes and rip it apart. Who knows? The older version of the Chuckit squeaky ball was his favorite for the year and a half he had it, but the way they make them now, he peels off the orange triangle in hours flat, the squeaker falls out (choking hazard), and then he rips it apart. I’m going to stock up on these. I can’t imagine how crazy he will be if they ever stop production or change the materials.

Awesome for hyper dogs
Color: Blue
AWESOME - I have a dog that just won't stop trying to get me to play with him ALL day! I turn this thing on and he goes nuts and tires himself out...without any help from me. The cover got torn off and torn up in minutes but he doesn't care. He just wants this ball. My other dogs, who are older, aren't really interested. But if you have a hyper dog this is the thing for you and them!

Great entertainment, charges quickly!
Color: Orange
Super fun entertainment for dog! Toy ball charges quickly and the charge lasts for at least an hour of playtime for the dog. There are 2 modes. one mode Just lights up, which makes it easy for pet to chase it. The second mode not only lights up, but it also wiggles on the ground Randomly and speeds off in a direction on its own, which really makes it interesting for your dog or cat to follow! Once the ball is not touched for about thirty seconds, it goes dormant and it will stay like that As long as it's charged until somebody touches it, and then it starts up randomly lighting up and moving around the floor on its own And making a vibration noise. It's a lot of fun to watch the dog chase and play with, and it certainly keeps them entertained for a while! The laughs and fun entertainment are definitely worth it. The only downside is that my dog chewed off the soft fabric covering in about twenty minutes. And she's not a real big chewer. It looks better with the covering on it, but even without it, the ball works fine and she plays with it every day.So that is not a showstopper. But good to supervise your dog for safety. In case they are a chewer, and they decide to destroy the cover. But the ball works fine without the cover too!

Looooves her crazy new ball
Color: Orange, Color: Orange
Our 90lb mastiff/boxer mix Indie is very playful, curious and energetic. She needs toys that engage her and keep her busy. This ball does the job! We’ve had it for less than a week. Here’s what I love and what could be better: PROS: • She dog loves it. She whines for it. She gets absurdly excited when I get it out. She’s a bit of an anxious dog, but had zero problems with it inexplicably coming to life. • It lasts a while on a single charge, so it keeps her busy for a good long time. The longest we’ve used it at a stretch is an hour. • It’s pretty durable. She’s a super chewer (destroyed every “non-destructible” toy we’ve purchased for her), but the actual ball is hard plastic. She gnaws on it and it gets scratches, for sure. But she’s not going to chew it to pieces. • On carpet, it’s reasonably quiet. • It comes with a replaceable silicone button. • It’s easy to charge…just pull off the silicone button and the charging port is inside. • The silicone button is flush with the ball’s hard plastic surface, so there’s no way for her to pull the silicone button out and swallow it or get to the charging port. CONS: • Cover is worthless if your dog is a chewer. It goes on like an envelope with a Velcro closure. We took it off immediately. • Without the cover, it’s very noisy on hardwood floors. To us, it’s worth it. (Though, I work from home, so I might feel differently after the holiday vacation.) • She’s an XL dog, so she can fit the whole ball in her mouth easily and accidentally chomp down on the button and turn the ball off. Not a big deal, just something to know if you’ve got a Lab or larger dog. • With extended playtime, the two halves can come unscrewed, especially with a large dog who uses their paws/jaws on it a lot. Thankfully, it makes a loud buzzing noise when this happens, so we know we need to take it from her and screw it back together. Is this a potential danger? With the rechargeable battery inside, I’d say yes. But we also don’t let her play with this toy without supervision. So keep that in mind. Bottom line: It has its drawbacks, but it keeps her entertained and seems like it should last her at least 6 months with supervised play. Which is honestly REALLY good when we’re talking about Indie, Destroyer of Toys. I’d buy it again.
